Young Brit found dead in Chiang Mai condo - lots of meds in the room

Police were called to a luxury condo in the Chang Khlan district of Chiang Mai on Saturday after the maid found a British man dead in the bedroom of room 812 on the eighth floor.

Kapadia Sarfaraaz, 39, was face down on the bedroom floor.

Police found no signs of a struggle or wounds on the body.

There were lots of medications in the room indicating that the man had probably died from some illness.

He had checked into the condo last Tuesday and been dead about one day.

Thai Rath described him as a "big" man without explaining further.

An autopsy is being held and relatives are being contacted.

Luxury condo? Doesn't look that luxurious to me.

Also doesn't look like a condo, if he "checked in" and there was a maid doing room cleaning. Maybe an airbnb accomodation? In this case "luxury" is probably what they wrote to advertise it.

Sorry about the guy.

It feels like more Brits dying in Thailand than the UK time again????RIP

There aren't many true Brits in UK anymore...The EU screwed that up nicely for us, as other EU nations are finding out to their peril now!

Kapadia Sarfaraaz. I've known a few Brits, but none sounded like this.

Many different sounding names for people with UK passports , some now 3rd generation Brits, better than smith/.brown/.jones or Ponsonby-Smythe-Buckett ????

wow! I guess there is no need for any investigation, then, as that absolutely solves it.

Farang come here to die. Have a quick look for bruising or holes and then stick them in a furnace. Its a 3rd world country you really expect a CSI and the associated costs?

It does!  Sadly, but since this is Thailand, I expect a large steady stream of constant deaths and suicides no matter who  they are.

39 is young now?!

RIP young man ????

At 39 I still thought of myself as young, although to be fair even at 50 I keep myself in the same shape as I did when I was in my 20's & 30's and I still enjoy the same things, do the same things (clubbing etc) and feel the same way in all respects.

I feel very sorry for people who get 'old' mentally.  I also feel sorry for people who get old physically but some of that is because they are too lazy to stay in better physical shape.

Anyway, RIP young man.

39 is usually young, but it sounds as if this guy was obese and suffering from multiple ailments, probably mostly related to that.

Once your body has to deal with diabetes, fatty liver, extra pressure on the heart, sleep apnea etc, you might as well be 80.

RIP.
