PARIS (Reuters) - Former Trump adviser Steve Bannon on Monday praised French far-right politician Marine Le Pen's political recovery but said he was in France as an observer of the European elections rather than actively playing a role in Le Pen's campaign.

Bannon said Le Pen had done well in terms of managing to come back from her defeat to President Emmanuel Macron in France’s 2017 presidential election.

"Her resilience, given that she has managed to come back from her failure in 2017, and the way in which she has given a new identity to the Front National, everything that she has done in terms of leading her party - I find it quite remarkable,” Bannon told BFM TV. Bannon spoke in English and his comments were translated into French.

Bannon, a former chairman of the right-wing Breitbart.com website, has been meeting several of Europe's populist groups with the aim of advising them before May's European elections.

Opinion polls show Le Pen's Rassemblement National party, formerly known as the National Front, to be neck-and-neck with President Emmanuel Macron's centrist Republic On the Move.

"Bannon has no role in our campaign. I did not even know he was in Paris for business. It has nothing to do with the campaign. It is you, the media that are dragging him into the campaign," Le Pen also told FranceInfo on Monday.

I can imagine the outcry if a European started to meddle in  American politics.

If they were far right, Donald would have them over for McDonald’s kid meals

The real fascists are the corporate/political oligarchy which runs the world economy, and the political minions permitted to manage their egregious global ponzi scheme.

Thank heavens the working classes across the West are at last waking up to how they have been conned into docile servitude by corrupt leaders and a tame mass media which shamelessly parrots the establishment lies and deceptions.

Only blinkered individuals who naively rely on the lying propaganda pumped out by the state mouthpieces like the BBC and mainstream newspapers will see the likes of Farage, Salvini and Penn as fascists.

If you want to see REAL fascists in action, watch video footage of hooded and masked thugs attacking would-be MEP Tommy Robinson ( "alias Stephen Yaxley-Lennon"), his supporters, women and children bystanders and even the police - and getting off scot free.

Or surf YouTube for a reprise of the brutal savagery meted out the Yellow Vests of France who took to the streets in a desperate bid to have justifiable grievances addressed by their nation's autocratic new Napoleon - a protege of the Rothschild banking dynasty.

Farage, a man who campaigned all his political life to free Britain from the chains of the elite who run Europe, is no more fascist than the 17.4 million Brits who voted Leave in a referendum of which would never have happened without his efforts.

The true fascists can be found among the politicians and their supporters still campaigning to overturn Brexit and consign us to a bleak future as a colony of the imperialistic United States of Europe.

It will be good to see them get their marching orders.

Fascist supporters go walkabout.
