Getting off a bur early

Featured Replies

I do the BKK to Pattaya bus route a few times a year and oftentimes Thais will get off early. What is the etiquette for this? Does one just walk up to the front when he's ready to get out and let the driver know to stop, or is more pre-planning involved?

I've found that Sukhumvit is so slow that just getting off at an earlier BTS station than Ekkamai would be faster.

bus stop 555

the few times I took the bus and wanted to get off a bur earlier, just walked next to the driver and asked him (with a smile ????) to stop and it worked

Thai bus drivers etiquette and being helpful for dropping people off near their home,

What a nasty farangie you are. ????

It really is not easy getting off a bur early.

Bangkok to Pattaya, passengers going to out of the way stops tell the hostess. I notice there are a lot fewer of those stops than there used to be.  Stops along the main road into Pattaya they just come to the front of the bus.  Most are designated stops.

Pattaya to Bangkok, they only seem to stop at regular stops: Home Pro Ban Pee, Central Bang Na, Udom Suk BTS, On Nut BTS, then Ekkamai station.  Passengers who put luggage in the underbus boot can only get off at Ekkamai.
