Hi,

My kid goes to international school for several years already. This time, when we came to extend his visa, immigration officer requested his last school report. We had to walk away.

Is this a common practice ?

I got report sometime ago, but threw it away.

A letter from the school confirming that the child is enrolled there will probably also be acceptable.

Why would you throw it away,,,,,or never had it in the first place ???

Perhaps the OP will be leaving Thailand soon, contract work etc and doesn't feel that school reports for a young kid are that important.

may the reports are very positive thus why retain?  no need to review with teachers, etc.  an official transcript is a different story since it can be used to transfer / apply.

On my last retirement extension the old bat at CW told me next year I would have to get a Ed visa for my child (16 yrs old in highschool) and not follow my visa as my dependent. By law, my child can follow my visa up to 20 years old. They (immigration officers) just make these things up because they can. The bat didn't say anything about my wife following my visa.
