I-mobile Phones

Featured Replies

There has been an 8 megapixel mobile phone (902) made by i-mobile (samart) going around since June of last year. Thais that I talk to say they are no good, but are not very specific. Has anybody owned an i-mobile phone and would care to comment or the above model in particular?

Gentleman I know has had a side line selling these and others over the net to Europe. AFAIK they've been well received. Though if memory serves they weren't 8 meg but 5 meg originally, despite the advertising, I presume they are now 8.

They are made by a Korean manufacturer yes? That manufacturer must be making them for other countries/companies under a different brand name.

Believe so, looked like the same {or very similar} handset and specification was available in different guises. I don't believe i-mobile has any manufacturing capacity itself.

I have an iMoblile camcorder phone, made in Korea by a company called Innostream (Model A20). Almost 2 years old- bought it when the 2 megapixel camera was better than all of the 1.3's on the market at that time. Never had a moment of problem with it, and the camcorder functionality is great.

The only downfall I have found is that although the phone is java capable, there are no sites for downloadable "goodies"... javascript games, applications, etc like there is for the better known brands- Nokia, Ericcson, et al. Although I have no complaint with this phone, I'll buy a Nokia next time.

I just looked on the Innostream website and it seems their last product came out in 2005. Maybe the just manufacture for i-mobile Thailand now??

Hi,

I bought an i-mobile phone more than 2 years ago, it had a low definition camera, but I did not buy it for this, just because it was the cheapest mobile phone which could be used as a mp3 player. What I forgot to check was that it was an over the head headset which was too small for me (and they did not have other headset).

Anyway I've used it as a phone for nearly 2 years, was Ok. Near the end the painting on the keys had disapeared, but it's not that difficult to guess which key is for what number.

Then I made the mistake to answer a phone call just after shower, my hairs being still wet water was dripping on the phone, and it died. But I guess the same would have happenned with any other brand.

i've had one for several months now. not sure which model.

the camera is functional but just barely. good for gotta have images when not carrying other camera. i got extra memory, 256 meg. the mp3 player and phone itself are great. all in all glad to have it.

It seems I-Mobile phones are popular with bar girls ... if that is information you can do something with.

I have an imobile for over two years now. I suppose the best thing to say about it is that it is cheap and cheerful. I haver been unable to get the phone to communicate with my computer but have been able to with other people's imobiles.I must have a dodgy one.

I needed to send it away once to be fixed because of a line through the screen. If the battery goes completely flat I need to take it back to the shop or it won't charge. I suppose it is OK for my needs. I already have a mp3 player and a digital camera.

I haven't tried it in the shower yet but it has survived two Songkrans.

If you're just planning to use it as a phone, no problem about it. It has a user friendly menu that makes it very easy to use. It's a below average mp3 player in terms of sound quality. If you're keen on using it as a camera, you're better off getting yourself a real camera... 8 megapixels? I don't think a phone that size with a minuscule lens could achieve that... It's just ad hype...

I think I'll buy an Ericsson after reading the above

its better to stay away from imobile if you can afford to. its quite badly built, ie cheap plastics. feels really cheap.

bargirls doing well always stick with nokias.
