If they are remotely serious why not crack down on the guys who have been making degrading movies with young thai women and ladyboy specials for paid sites openly flaunting "Thai content".  I think we can all guess the answer to this question.

Ah, the old loss of face thingy. What a joke this place is.

American body guards of the President had sex at a brothel while on duty.  They tried to cover it up.  Not a joke but normal for anyone who reads the news.

Everyone making sex in massage parlore or hotel or any house in Thailand is filmed by hidencamera and his or her video will come out soon or late.

Warning for farang who care

You were sat on a bar-stool in Pattaya when a retired SAS brit told you this, right?

Firstly, the clip damages the good reputation Thailand and Chiang Mai has as a destination popular with tourists.

Ohh its the image thing again. Only a few years back certain market areas in bangkok were openly selling DVDs of CP under the watchful eye of the L...........i police, so that was OK?

amateur “adult” videos are easily viewed on various “adult entertainment” websites.

Let’s worry more about the air pollution in Changmai.

sadly for the protagonist it is easier to choke on the cm air than on what he brings to the table

Every time this type of thing happens you get the usual comments about Thailand's image being affected.

Do any of these authorities have any idea of the image Thailand has around the world?

If Family Fortunes (or Family Feud in the USA) had the question "We asked 100 people to name a country famous for its sex tourism" I'm pretty sure I know what country would be number one on the list. Yes, this country that is conconcerned about protecting its image and that believes people go to Pattaya for its world class beaches!

In America my relatives think I live in Taiwan.  I wouldn't overestimate the geographical knowledge of the average Westerner.

There is a Free website where you can watch people have sex everywhere in Thailand (bus, restroom, classroom literally everywhere) it has millions of subscribers all over the world and in Thailand.

Me too, even when I lived in Singapore, everyone in the US said I live in Taiwan.  I get a bit testy when time after time, people I don't know such as bank customer service people reply, Taiwan when I very very clearly say THAILAND when they ask where I am calling from.  If I could speak in CAPS, I would its that annoying!

Secondly, after watching the clip, foreign tourists might mistake traditional Thai massage for something sexual or inappropriate.

Firstly:  my crystal ball is in the shop being repaired, but I can see a surge in tourism

Secondly:  I don't know about Europe, but in the US nearly every strip mall has a place that re-defines the meaning of massage.

But of course the film is just play acting, nothing of that sort takes place in Thailand, never has and never will.  Remember the police investigated Pattaya and found no evidence of hanky-panky.  Anything that attempts to counter their findings is fake news.

Hate to break it to you guys, but they have gone. Highly unlikely they left a copy of their ID behind for you to find, or coming back for an encore.

Given that pretty much every massage shop across the country offers "extras" not really sure what all the fuss is about, apart from "image" which is a waste of time. Everyone knows what such places are about, so pretending otherwise is somewhat futile, especially since publicising the video only exacerbates the matter.

It's like looking at someone with a straight face and saying "no I didn't accept the cum shot" as it dribbles off her chin.

Some people lie.  I presume it happens in this country too.  I'll let you know in another decade or more.

I’m not sure where you live but I disagree that ‘pretty much every massage shop offers extras’. Upcountry where I live a massage is exactly that.

After an extensive investigation by the police it was found that foreigners do not have sex with Thais. Therefore the face is back where it belongs and the image is de-cracked.

Another job well done by the Force of the Police.

Clearly a job reserved for Thais.

Be that as it may, if you had really good reputation, one clip isn't going to bring the house down. Now get down from your high horse, and put your pants back on.

Err... what mistake? There are legit spas (and Thailand has some of the best!) and then there are 'spas'. Stop acting like this is news.

And the 'outrage'. Really? Outrage because the male actor is better-endowed than you lot, or outraged that a farang has done work without a permit, and a job reserved for Thai nationals at that?

I've never managed to have a massage in Thailand without them trying for a hand job tip.

And that includes the male masseuse at a Chiang Mai temple.

How dare a farang do that, leave it to thais, they are more qualified to

damage their own reputation.
