I'm going to the Canadian Embassy in Bangkok to get a new passport as it is full (one blank page left) probably tomorrow or Wednesday.

At the same time, my current visa expires this Friday and waiting for my new visa from BOI.

That been said, If I don't have my passport in my hands, can I still get the new visa in the system or if I make copies of all pages in my passport, can they stamp on it?

What are the options?

I'm sure I will get an embassy receipt or some kind of papers stating my passport is currently being replaced.

Any feedback welcome

The will give you back your old passport when you do the application as far as I know. You can use it until you get your new one.

You cannot do anything at immigration without your original passport.

When I got my new passport in Tokyo, they took the old passport back but give it back to me after I got the new one.

They asked me " Do you want to get your old passport back? ".

So my option, try to get the new Visa before Friday, get the stamp then go to the Canadian Embassy to get a new passport correct?  When I get a new passport, I can simply transfer the new visa back?

Visas are not transferred.

Immigration will transfer your extension of stay stamp, most recent entry stamp and do a annotation about the visa that allowed the entry you have been extending and info about your old passport.

Not want to sound negative or bad. Please do not take it the wrong way. Now it´s to late, but for the next time, if samr might happen, it can be good to look at the proble4m and apply for a new passport 1-2 month before your visa or an extension expires.

I am pretty sure that they will let you keep your old passport if you wish, and then there should not be a problem anyway. Good luck!

HUA HIN - 20/06/2019 - resolved in 45 minutes
transfer stamps on new passport -

- English letter from the embassy of your country requesting transfer of stamps on new passport
- photocopies of the pages of the old passport
- photocopy of the new passport
- photocopy of M6
if you do not have copies, go directly to the "copies" service on the right of the building where a charming employee will photocopy your passports, add a completed form that she will attach to the embassy letter, check your file and do not forget to pay for the copies.
Otherwise, go directly to the reception, upstairs, show your complete file and then we will give you the form and a ticket waiting.

500 B further (without receipt) you get your 2 passports, the former had the cut corners and the pages not served by a "canceled", when the delivery of your new passport to the embassy or consulate.
Always OK in Hua Hin, even for those who forget, sometimes, papers.
