A mother of a girl in Phichit who lost her left leg two years ago because of cancer has called for help in getting her a prosthetic leg for better mobility at school.

The mother, Plubpueng Butrnoi, said doctors had to amputate the left leg of her daughter Nattaporn, 9, two years ago to save her life.

After Nattaporn fell and broke her left leg, doctors diagnosed bone cancer and recommended the amputation to be sure she did not die within two years.

The mother said her daughter made her own decision to amputate, did not give up, and has ever since tried to live her life normally.

The family lives in Tambon Ban Noi in Phichit’s Pho Thale district, and the girl is now studying in the fourth grade of Ban Noi School.

Pranee Puengchai, one of the girl’s teachers, said the girl is good at studying and has remained lively following the amputation.

The mother said the girl must see doctors regularly and needs a new crutch. Since the family is poor, the mother said she would welcome help for the medical expense, a new crutch and perhaps a prosthetic leg for the girl.

The mother can be contacted at 065-0101825.

I am shocked.  Why did she not get a prosthesis short after operation - without asking? They should have been given advise from the hospital.

Hospitals are not given advise, the are only taking money.

how does get one cancer in one leg ? anyone ?

I was wondering same thing...a quick Google looks like she may have had Bone cancer in her leg

With bone cancer they do sometimes amputate the whole leg to prevent metastasis

What a great opportunity for a kind cashed up falang to get her a new beaut Euro or US prosthesis.

might cost a bit but imagine how it will help her.

she will need a new prosthesis every year until she is adult, and I am not sure  a prosthesis for 7000 Baht will be state of the art

Google says 700-7000 baht. Tried calling. No answer.

For OP, getting account details of the mother would be great. I'll try again later.

Let us know the outcome. I am happy to contribute.

I am hoping that this article reaches the right foundations to jump in and help this girl....... If not I would certainly donate 7000 to a secure caretaker..... I will continue to monitor this post for any organizations offering help or any go fund me activities......

Hoping good luck can occur for this girl and Mom......

There should be any government or foundatuin that offered the girl a prosthetic leg for free long time ago already. Has this not happen? I can´t believe the hospital did´nt

inform about this already. I hope this is not some sort of scam in order to get money for the family. In the case it is not I am happy to contribute.
