This comes as quite a relief to know that the nosey neighbours sole intention was the safety of Boris and his girlfriend. Although they and all their friends voted to remain within the EU I think one could be forgiven for thinking that their sole intention was to prevent Brexit. I just wonder if they and their friends had voted to leave, would that recording of the 'lovers tiff' ever have reached the offices of the Guardian, tricky one.

I'm not at all sure that's Johnson's car, neither I doubt are you. 

 

But if it is, perhaps the two penalty notices are an indication of his attitudes to the laws everyone else has to live by. 

 

The penalty notices are, after all, the only indication in this photo of any law having been broken.

Sky reported from outside his home yesterday and said very clearly that it is his car & even spliced footage of him in it from several angles. A post to that effect has already received your customary emoji.

Johnson is wracking up penalty notices and leaving them on display for the  nation to understand he has little if any regard for the laws everyone lives by.

Attempts to cultivate this non-story into something more are so transparently a smear tactic - something the neoliberal lefties specialise in after all. ????

There's a big difference between suggesting that a person who has a 'domestic' is unfit to perform stately duties and questioning the judgement and behaviour of a man who is on the cusp of becoming PM getting into a 'domestic' to which the Police are called - And yes I note the attempt the distract from the fact of Johnson's behaviour by blaming the person who  reported it. 

 

However, there is no reasonable level-headed argument for not questioning the judgement and behaviour of Johnson wrt to this incident.

I don't see that there is ANY real difference in the two premises you set side by side here.

 

Are you suggesting that he should be sequestered in a bunker somewhere unable to live his life until the end of July? That he should in fact refrain from engaging in his usual daily interactions and in effect put on a charade to disguise his true nature?

 

That would surely be worse than being honest and natural, wouldn't it? The notion that he is a person with 'poor judgement' or of blemished character because he had a spat with his missus and is therefore persona non grata with regard to becoming PM, is, as I said - patently absurd. Is it not a lot more likely that he and his close friends & family are actually experiencing a very increased level of anxiety and stress at this time precisely because of the current political situation and isn't it also probable that because of this tensions would be running high? The argument could have arisen because of an entirely unrelated contributing factor, who knows. It is, as I said, not really anyone's business!

 

Just as if you or I had a shouting match within the walls of our own home with our own partner - it wouldn't be the business of anyone else, it is only if things become violent/physical that there is a caveat introduced to this otherwise private situation.

Arguments and disagreements between couples is perfectly normal, yet you are suggesting that because he [Boris Jonson] had an argument, this is uncontrolled behavior and he needs to fix his private life....

 

It seems to me that the only uncontrolled part of this story is the hyperbolic bias people are expressing to account for what is otherwise a perfectly normal situation blown out of proportion by a politically motivated neighbor and unscrupulous press.

So, you're yet another one judging him by unattainable standards that I would very much doubt you live your own life by... and what 'consequences arising for him publicly'? This happened within the privacy of his girlfriend's home. If they engaged in a row on the street that's a very different scenario and would be, quite rightfully, open for criticism. This was not the case, so basically it sounds like you're also arguing that he isn't allowed a private life or to experience any tumult within it - or at least not while he's running for PM?  

 

Self-righteousness is a very off-putting character trait, that's all I'll say. ????

How do you know Boris "maneuvered himself into this situation" were you there? Could it have been his girlfriend that threw a strop or more likely the nasty left wing remainers who voted remain actually heard more than actually happened.

Could it be that remainers have nothing better to do than to crusify someone for allegedly spilling wine over some furniture (colour of wine and the value of the suite yet to be determined).

I can't say that I'm fond of Boris Jonson, however, the issue at hand here is not the man himself but that issues such as this which are inflated by media ultimately oxygenate stupidity and detract from the genuine issues which the media should reporting and which we should be understanding...  this is not news its pathetic gossip...
