Female pickpocket gang in London caught on camera stealing Thai tourist’s purse

A female pick pocket has been caught on camera stealing from two Thai tourists in London.

Nina Spencer, 51, and Toi McGurran, 51, were walking towards the Palace Theatre in London’s West End while making a video to share to their friends.

But after they crossed the road Toi realised that her purse containing £400 in cash and credit cards were missing from her handbag.

It wasn’t until the Nina and Toi watched the video back that they realised what had happened.

The footage shows three women walking closely behind Nina and Toi.

One woman appears to shield the other’s hand as she reaches into the bag and grabs the purse.

The purse is then handed to another woman before all three walk off quickly in the same direction.

Nina reported the theft to the police but they haven’t yet been able to return the purse.

Speaking to The Sun, Nina said: 'We reported this to the police straight away. They asked me for the location where it happened and we sent them the video of it.

"We don’t think it’s possible to have the money back now. But we just want to be helpful and let the police be aware of things going on in the city."

Nina lives in the UK with her British husband. Toi was recently visiting Nina on holiday from Thailand and the pair decided to visit London.

Nina said the incident ruined their trip and left them disappointed with their experience of London.

''It’s sad that this had to spoil our trip. I hope the police can catch them so that it doesn’t happen to other people”, she said.

Someone at least then is starting to understand how foreigners over here feel when they get robbed and ripped off when trying to have a pleasant holiday. Crime is a problem everywhere, and proves just because you are on holiday, doesn't mean you can let your guard down when carrying valuables.

And the "possible" 4th lady visible in back ground during all this and then heads off in the same direction and speed as the other 3 ladies

Just looking at them tells me they are from there.

I'd be surprised if the London police can be arsed to investigate this at all, even with the video.

Bet they will be glad to get back to a law abiding place now????

So a Thai gets pickpocketed, and some people on here try to make it about quality tourism, how foreigners feel in Thailand, Thai are so poor, etc.

The negativity towards Thailand and Thai people in general in overwhelming again.

Last year 80% of offenders convicted of pick pocketing in London last year were from Romania.

Very professional - this will not be the first nor the last these bitches catch.

No fuzzy faces here.....  If the London camera system is what it claims to be, there should be either 3

pending arrest warrants or 3  women packing their bags to head out of town ....

Wouldn't mind hanging a few quid out from my pocket for this one to pick..... In the interest of a fair investigation.

Where's the pointing?  at least our CCTV works!  most times something happens here it's 'broken' or 'under maintenance'.

Now they know what it feels like

These Thai girls have family in the UK (eg husband) and struggle to get a visa.... whilst pickpocketing scum can walk in easy with no paperwork or connections to UK....  crazy irony of current UK immigration law

Unfortunate for the Thai ladies but why would anybody walk around in a major city with their purse easily accessible in an unlatched bag?

If they catch her they should fine her 500 baht and an apology to the women she stole from.

This article is bad for the image of England.

No doubt so did McGuran, ????

and since Nina lives in UK she is not a tourist and surely by now should have UK passport

Maybe she does have a valid UK passport , if I went to London I would consider myself a tourist . When I lived in Plymouth and went to London once a year I was a tourist.

I find it extraordinary that when anything bad happens to a Thai (  victims of romance scams are a common one ), people seem to want to bring up all past transgressions that have been caused by other Thais and associate it with them with as if it was some kind of karma by association .

There are pick pocket warning signs all over tourist areas in central London, it's a shame the visit of the Thai ladies was ruined and just not good enough! UK visitors should feel safe on our streets.

Police with all the available technology should be stamping this out, heavier sentences, yes jail for perpetrators and associates.

The time is well past for being lenient on crime, get them off the streets, the police might be encouraged to make more arrests if the perpetrators are not immediately released to repeat time after time!!

A totally scummy thing to do... I hope these pickpockets get caught and in light of such clear and damning evidence get the book thrown at them.

I've no tolerance for anyone who targets the weak, be they tourists or anyone else in any country.

Yep had one try it on me in Barcelona. Mostly Romanian Gypsies who have been forced out of their own countries. Mass clearances of gypsies happening in Roumania. Can't blame them for fleeing the persecution but at least they shouldn't try to live up to the reputation that they brought with them.
