Political activist Sirawith Seritiwat, or “Ja New”, posted on his Facebook page last night (Wednesday) to express gratitude to those who care about democracy and who are concerned about him.

“I want to thank a lot of people who care about democracy, are concerned about me, stand by me and support me in every way,” says Sirawith.

In the post, typed by his friend, Sirawith went on to say that he was touched by everyone’s kindness, acknowledging all the activity related to his case and calling for justice both inside and outside parliament. He also updated his current condition, saying he is stable, adding there remains small amount of bleeding from his eyes and nose and he is a little wobbly when trying to walk, from which it will take some time to recover.

this picture is before attack on him. He is still on hospital bed, barely walking, unable to write on smartphone/laptop. Just a small manipulation from thai censored press

Interesting point, Londonthai (above). If you are right - and I am sure you are  - I am not in the least surprised: the piece and photo-selection comes, after all, from that bastion of the Establishment, Thai PBS!

Most Thais I meet are afraid to talk about politics.   People like him who question the establishment are sorely needed.  Most of the Thais I know who voted junta were either working for Thai/foreign mega corps or public servants.   Not good for those who are dynamic, hustling to make a living.   That is why innovation and fun are distant memories in Thailand.   Stifling and mind numbing "stability" over freedom and fun.  May he resemble this before the beating picture soon.

You've changed your tune.

Weren't you one of the guys questioning the first attack against this kid.

Something about it didn't look serious enough for you.

Seems second time around did the trick for you.

regards shame, shame, shame

In the first photo he did not look like he had been attacked by 4 men with clubs,

i NEVER said he was not attacked, obviously whom ever ordered the attack thought

the same, so ordered another beating ,which was more vicious. i have not changed

my tune...
