BANGKOK, 5 July 2019 (NNT) -Development of craft products is another important goal that the government has supported in order to distribute income to communities. The Support Arts and Crafts International Center of Thailand (SACICT) is now to display and sell craft products at four department stores.

Mrs. Amphawan Phichalai, SACICT Director, said today that Thai handicraft products have continued to grow in popularity among Thais and foreigners with sales exceeding one billion baht a year from domestic and international orders and shops at Suvarnabhumi Airport and Phuket International Airport. Now these products are being launched on online markets and at fairs.

SACICT Craft Fair 2019 which displays and sells contemporary craft products will be staged at four department stores: Grand Hall, 1st Floor, The Mall, Bang Khae from July 12th-16th, 2019; Grand Hall, 1st Floor, The Mall Khorat from July 25th-29th, 2019, Charoennakhorn Hall, M Floor, ICONSIAM, from August 14th-18th, 2019, and the Event Hall, 1st Floor, The Mall Tha Phra from August 22nd-26th, 2019.

The events will feature a variety of selected Thai handicraft products such as cloth products, wickerwork, accessories, pottery, leather goods, home decor items at over 50 booths. They are contemporary products that can be used in everyday life. The proceeds from the fairs will be distributed to villagers and communities in regions throughout the country to upgrade their quality of life, strengthen the local economy and assist the development of Thai arts and crafts in a sustainable manner. It is expected that sales from the four fairs will reach over 50 million baht.
