Defence Minister General Tea Banh is leading a delegation made of senior members of the armed forces to attend the 13th Asean Defence Ministers’ Meeting in Thailand. The last ADMM was held on October 19 last year in Singapore.

The delegation left the Kingdom yesterday and will be in Thailand until Friday. The trip comes following an invitation by Thai Defence Minister General Prawit Wongsuwan. “[ADMM] will focus on promoting peace, stability and to address regional security challenges,” Defence Ministry spokesman General Chhum Sucheat said in a statement yesterday.

Gen Banh will deliver a keynote speech on how to maintain peace during the meeting, he noted. “The meeting will discuss addressing challenges pertaining to Asean and ensure security in our region, including on how to maintain peace,” he said.
