Fearful villagers demand neutral investigation in death of Lahu drug suspect

Villagers of Ban Huay Krai Mai in Chiang Mai’s Wiang Haeng district on Thursday called for an immediate transfer of the plain-clothes police who were involved in the Tuesday killing of 50-year-old Lahu drug suspect Jajua Ja-or. The officers must be moved out of the area within 24 hours to make way for a transparent and fair investigation of what happened, they insisted.

Korean executive wanted for fraud tracked down by Thai Immigration

A 51-year-old South Korean man, who was wanted on an Interpol warrant for a fraud case involving damages worth 692,762,000 won (about Bt20 million) in his home country, was arrested on July 12 in Bangkok, Immigration Police Bureau chief Pol Lt-General Sompong Chingdoung told a press conference on Thursday.

Overseas Thai workers unable to pay debts back home due to baht plunge

People in Thailand’s Nan province warned of flesh-eating disease
