Bangkok During Easter

Featured Replies

Since I will be in Bangkok during Easter, I would like to find a place where I can get Easter dinner. Since my girl friend only really eats Thai food, I think it would be a good experience for her. Any recommendations on restaurants?

What's an easter dinner? Is it like the last supper (bread and wine) or are you looking for western recommendations? More info needed.

Easter is not really a celebrated event over here.

I would try one of the high end hotels.

My choice would be one of the following........Shangri-La, Marriott, Conrads,Sheraton,Peninsula. Great food in all these hotels

Sorry yeah, I thought about that after posting. I guess all the Easter dinners I've had over the years have been similar to Christmas dinner. Turkey, ham, mashed potatoes, etc. Although I know Easter really isn't celebrated there, I thought perhaps there would be a few restaurants that might have something for westerners.

I've no idea what an Easter dinner is either.... just as I had no idea what a Thanksgiving Dinner was until a few years ago. American holidays seem to be celebrated with a dinner which seems a good idea.... any excuse for a party.... but to assume that an American tradition is automatically a ''Westerner'' tradition is just the usual arrogance we have come to expect.

Last time I checked Easter was a celebrated Western Christian tradition. I have friends from around Europe who celebrate Easter in certain ways...so no, I am not assuming it's JUST an American tradition. I guess had I asked the same question for Christmas, you would have had the same comment. :o

My choice would be Trader Vic's at the Marriot on the river. Seems a bit pricey at first, but it is including alcohol :o
