BMA ponders idea of digging east-side canal to drain floodwaters

LONDON (Reuters) - The European Union's chief Brexit negotiator, Michel Barnier, must go back to the bloc's leaders to change the terms of the talks because Britain's parliament will not accept the current deal, British Brexit minister Stephen Barclay said on Sunday.

Baby in a rush in Chon Buri, born with 12 fingers and 12 toes

A mother has given birth to a healthy baby girl on the side of the road in Chon Buri. It does happen, sometimes the baby can’t wait until mum arrives at hospital. But this special bundle of joy has 12 fingers and 12 toes. But this was no surprise to the mother and grandmother who also have six fingers on each hand.

PHUKET: After less than 48 hours on the island, new Tourism & Sports Minister Phipat Ratchakitprakarn has announced that a major meeting to be attended by several ministers will be held in Phuket on Aug 25 to address a slew of tourism issues, including taxi fares, tourist safety, water shortages and clean beaches, and the prospect of allowing bars and other entertainment venues in Patong to stay open until 4am.

Tropical depression ‘Wipha’ wreaks havoc in upper North

Heavy rains and floods today (August 5) inundated many parts of the upper North due to tropical depression Wipha.

 

Flooded roads were reported in Chiang Mai province, where the Thai Meteorological Department had on Sunday warned of torrential downpours in 70 per cent of its area.
