swindonabroad
I am returnting to the Uk for the first time since moving here. I want to change my Thai Baht into Pounds. Is it best to do this at BKK airport or in London when i arrive. By the way I fly at 3am from Thailand so guess maybe not too many booths open at that time when I leave? enyaw
I would of thought you would get more pound to the baht changing it in the UK?
Chris.B
Can you get pounds sterling at Bangkok airport? Maybe not outside banking hours as well.
Sophon
I would of thought you would get more pound to the baht changing it in the UK? I would be very surprised if that turns out to be the case. Generally the THB exchange rates (for cash) are extremely bad in Europe/the U.S., and I would think that even now with the on-shore/off-shore difference you will get more changing before you leave Thailand. Sophon Just checked the rates to see if I had mislead you: NatWest, UK: 62,2617 Bangkok Bank, Thailand: 66,38 The rates in the airports might be a little different, but I think the tendency will be the same. Personally I would just keep the money for my next visit, assuming of course that you are coming back. Sophon

Based on these rates it seems you would be saving 4 baht per pound by exchanging in London, right?
Mahout Angrit
Just checked the rates to see if I had mislead you:NatWest, UK: 62,2617 Bangkok Bank, Thailand: 66,38 So if that is the £ buying rate it is much better to exchange in UK.
enyaw
Just checked the rates to see if I had mislead you:NatWest, UK: 62,2617 Bangkok Bank, Thailand: 66,38 Exactly so logically speaking if you get less baht to the pound in uk it should make sense that you would get more pound to the baht as well.
