All government propaganda.

Links cut, pasted without any analysis of the veracity of the government statements despite the report of shortages at the head of this topic being based on a Government report.

Oh come on CH, everyone knows you can trust everything Boris, the ERG, Farage and the Tory party say to be the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth!! The Brexiters certainly do.

May tried to by-pass the British parliamentary constitution and failed. This Boris the liar and his weasel non elected bureaucrat right-wing anti-democracy adviser with fail too. Shortest reign as non elected PM ever!

It's equally possible to produce a list of bankers, retailers, industrialists, scientists, doctors, farmers, house builders, manufacturers all saying the opposite.

No, you won’t be able to produce an equally long list with equally reputable institutions and organisations.

The problem is that during the referendum the Governor of the Bank of England, no less, promised that the sky would fall in if the referendum passed. And here we are, three years later.

Look where your currency is three years after, and how much money went already down the drain. Add to that how much your reputation has lacked since, and the investment decisions businesses have made. And Brexit hasn’t even happened yet...

UK bosses have had 3 years to prepare, if they have not built new factories to become more self sufficient in various food items from Europe, or arranged for raw materials from other sources, THEN BLAME the bosses, not the government.

How exactly do you “built new factories to become more self sufficient in various food items from Europe” in three years? By the same

means you invent invisible border checks technology that doesn’t exist?

Please enlighten us.

The main problem with not having a plan in place can be fairly laid at the feet of Teresa May and Philip Hammond, neither of whom had any intention of formally exiting the EU.

May’s government and Hammond’s office threw 4bn at no-deal planning; that’s twice the amount the current Brexiteer government added. And the main problem with not having a plan in place is still that the plan was rejected by parliament three times.

I’m pretty sure you have some conspiracy theory blogs explaining all that. Did you consider therapy for your paranoia?

At least, when Boris visits Merkel and Macron, he can be sure for a few details:

a) thanks to the sinking of the GBP from around € 1,40 till now €1,085, a lot of EU import duty will not harm the British competiviness… as .. production costs already sunk with a 25 %

b) As the British did that before ( when invited to the €uro, the value of the GBP was € 1,70), and nearly no revolt, the British can sink their currency further, maybe to € 0,80, so.. who is afraid for the EU import duty ?

c) Impossible to make the British afraid for any visa requirements when visiting the EU as... many Labour voters cannot afford a trip abroad seen the lower pound, And for these Labour voters.. no Tory cares.

d) The British will return to real British virtues like: British lukewarm ale to replace EU wines, home grown coleslaw and cabbage to replace Spanish vegetables, and mash potatoes instead of Italian spaghetti.

e) The British will stop to burden the environment with ( air + reefer) shipments of fresh foods from far overseas  to have many fruits and vegetables available ( simply because they cannot afford it anymore, see also: professor Tim Lang of City University in The Lancet: https://www.sustainweb.org/news/aug19_tim_lang_brexit_food_planning/ )

How would tariffs imposed on UK exports by the EU reduce imports of these products by the UK?

Maybe a question of normal reading: it's the IMPORT DUTY into the EU from "third countries with no deal", like the UK from 1 Nov 2019 onwards.

Maybe when these EU import duties fall away when the UK is no longer an EU member state? What import duties the UK will impose.. their problem.

So, where your twist comes from ? ?

Oh my god - there's going to be some temporary food, fuel and drugs shortages...

Well, I guess we better ignore the referendum result and stay in the EU?

No! What absolute BLX. Get a grip of yourselves. This project fear propaganda blx becoming completely nonsensical. ????

I lived half my life before the EU. The benefits outweigh any regulations brought in by do gooders. They will still exist to annoy you and the government will still bring in goat shaggers and canibals.

And the Brexiters will continue to blame it all on the EU. It will probably work, too, as the chief proponents sun themselves abroad with the mountains of cash they made by shorting the UK, while their followers scratch their heads but will never admit to having been conned.

What a bloody shambles.

Brexiter...Brexiteer...what's the difference? Surely they both mean 'person in favour of Brexit', so why do you and your two toadies consider this to be an insult?

An insult is something on the lines of the pathetic, mindless, done-to-death 'remoaner'. Perhaps someone thought it funny the first time.

Let us not forget 'Traitors' and 'Enemies of The People'.

But this is where we are now. No compromise. No pausing for thought. Just two camps actively encouraged to tear each other apart while scum profit handsomely from our collective misery.

They do just that. It's kind of funny how Brexitism has become a religion for some of their followers.

The problem of the religions is that it's all feel and not a lot of thinking profoundly what is actually happening.

Brexiteers ideology of following the leader of empty of content speaker will eventually end up to living in a void.

Are you saying UK government should not be prepared to what is possible or likely to happen in the near future?

I don't think the modern and forward looking governments should simply wait for disaster to happen and only then say that boats should use their propellers to push water down the river.

Modern, western government are expected to think a few steps forward to avoid problems, which are about to happen.

But hey, you talk about 4th reich and all.

My twist comes from the post I replied to, which obviously you did not read.

Why would import taxes imposed by the EU on imports from the UK have any impact on UK citizens' health? It is completely incoherent. Thank you for supporting my point.
