Floods and taking the train to the North of Thailand from BKK

Does anyone know if the recent floods affected the train services from Hua Lampong to the North recently? Does it seem dangerous to take a night train from BKK to Chiang Mai and back to BKK over the weekend? Looking at the weather predictions it looks like there could be quite a bit of rainfall over the weekend.

If it comes anywhere close to what happened here in the Northeast (Roi Et, Khon Kaen and more) then you might experience problems.

From today's warning:

Quote

2 - 3 September: heavy to very heavy rain

North: Chiang Rai, Phayao, Phrae, Nan, Phitsanulok, Phichit, Uttaradit, Tak, Kamphaeng Phet and Phetchabun

I have overlooked this. Too long away to give useful advice.

Anything can happen in five days.

Just came to my mind that you might get more response in the Chiang Mai forum.

If there is trouble ahead it is likely in the north.

I haven't seen news about interrupted rail traffic at the moment.
