Anyone have any idea where I can sell my private plates?

I brought them 10 years ago for my BMW, but those days have gone now

so I want to sell them, they don't look as great on an 8 year old Fiesta, in fact I

am thinking that the plates are worth nearly as much as the car now!!!????

I know that there are websites that sell them but despite much googling

I can't seem to find one.

So on the offchance that anyone knows I would be very grateful if you could share

this information with me

Thanks very much

They have to be among the very few 'lucky or auspicious numbers' like all same digits and especially all 8's or 9's or in ascending/descending order to be worth the big mulha...

Buy a Thai motor magazine, a few dealers listed there. Search bervip or supercarnumber. The nearest I saw to your number is 8989 Bangkok plate 25000 baht.

I have seen the number on one of the sites taichiplanet  posted on here and they ranged from 120,000 to 250,000, the brand new ones go for more and it kinda depends on the Thai wording prefix.

So my missus will give them all a call this morning and find out what the best price we can get for it would be.

I paid 65,000 for them 10 years ago, so it would appear to have been a wise investment, lord knows how many "investments" I have made here that have backfired so it's nice to get one right for a change.

It's funny but most of the money making projects I ever had in the UK worked out for me, but trying to do pretty much the same thing HERE!!!! NO

@ThaiPauly  can you give us any  information   as to transferring a number plate from one vehicle to another ?

I asked once at the DLT  and they said the vehicle has to be of the same type  ie: car to car, truck to truck, bike to bike

and both registered in the same province..which seems to be rather limiting.

I have never transferred plates from one type of vehicle to another eg a car to a truck

I have transferred from one SUV to another and from one car to another.

Although with the car to car transfer because the car was first registered in Bangkok my wife had to go to the vehicle admin office in Bangkok to effect the change, they would not do it in Chiang Mai.
