Hi, I have a renewal coming up based on family which is pretty identical to documents needed for a marriage visa. This is for Chiang Mai.

I would like to know what the changes to immigration hoop jumps are since it moved from Promenada.

Such as:

1. What time is good to show up is acceptable? Please state days best and que lines and how it all works now.

2. Bank documents. As in are they really needed on the exact day or can they be the day before?

3. Does the map still have to be on their silly printed page?

3. What is the new list of needed things if anything has changed?

Lastly any advice, experience or additional information one can add to help this go easy for me this year.

to help this go easy

If easy is the goal and money not of importance, there are visa agents... mine gives me truly VIP service and make my life very easy in terms of visas... easily worth the fees for me.

Thank you kenk24, but no thank you. Would never consider it unless my body starts to degrade and I truly needed the help. I did pay a sitter once just before they moved to Promenada, but I did my own paper work.

I really just want to know what time is acceptable to show up for the que now, as before it has been that I went at all ungodly ugly times through-out the early morning over the years, and next would be do they require the statement from the bank to have to be on the same day or can be day before (besides bank book update on the day), and lastly the map and their idiotic having to be on their printed page. Mostly everything else is the same and straight forward I believe.

Thank you for your kind reply.

So it seems the time of coming and process has really mellowed.

Yes that helps a lot and is amazing. Thank you.

Did you do marriage or is it all the same time including the lines for a retirement? Mine is for family but is the same line as marriage, but could do marriage if ever had to.

I did mine 3 months ago but seems about the same as these more recent ones.  I arrived 8:30, wife went to update bankbook at BigC MaeHia.  I got in the info line to get a queue #, waited about 2 minutes, got #6.  As I sat down to wait, they called #5 and  5 minutes later called my #.  I do the monthly income extension, so first time with my documentation.  Had yearly letter fm my pension provider, had a chart fm that provider showing exactly what I received each month from Dec 2018 until May 2019.  IO checked my bank letter dated 5 days before (he indicated that the letter is good for 1 week only - same comment from bank).  Once he had checked and added up the amounts of deposit, he said where is your bankbook.  I told him my wife went to Big C to update it.  He finished stamping filling in necessary info and then said as soon as your wife returns, come immediately to show me.  She arr within 5 minutes, I took it to him and even though he was processing someone else he checked it against the letter and then said okay, wait over there until the boss signs it.  About 10 minutes later I had my passport all filled in correctly and departed.  Total time at immigration was less than half an hour.  Great improvement over previous years and since no embassy letter, $50.00 cheaper than before too.  I have no complaints about the NEW process!
