The US Air Force has dropped 40 tons of laser-guided bombs on what it called an 'ISIS infested island' in Iraq

F-15 and F-35 jets were used to bomb Qanus Island, which sits in the middle of the Tigris River in central Iraq, in order to destroy hiding places for jihadi fighters.

Colonel Myles B Caggins, spokesman for Operation Joint Resolve, tweeted: 'Here’s what it looks like when US Air Force F15 and F35 jets drop 36,000 kg of bombs on a Daesh infested island.'

Laser guidance seems a bit old tech?  I thought by now we'd have smart bombs with AI that detects low intelligence misogynists who believe in fairy stories and wear medieval fancy dress.

Thought that clobbering ISIS terrorists was as much fun as driving my SUV over sleeping soi dogs.

BTW, is Q anus a code name for this place?

There is little point in bombing back to the middle ages a group of people who have enthusiastically embraced the middle ages as a lifestyle choice!

Nor does bombing the living daylights out of a barren island achieve much against a dug in enemy, who doesn't require or possess modern technology or infrastructure. How many times has that been tried and failed (by the US) in the last 50 years?
