BananaBandit Posted September 16, 2019 Posted September 16, 2019 I realize that, upon getting a new passport, people have to transfer a stamp pertaining to retirement visa. But I'm in Thailand on a visa-exempt entry. So, when I get my new USA passport, do I have to go to a local immigration office and have them transfer anything ? Or do I just carry around both my new and old passports when I leave this country ?
elviajero Posted September 16, 2019 Posted September 16, 2019 Just show both passports on exit. The IO will deal with the transfer then and stamp you out in the new passport.
BananaBandit Posted September 18, 2019 Author Posted September 18, 2019 very well then. thank you for telling me.

Tourist entry stamps do not need to be transferred until leaving the country.

Instead both passports will need to be presented at Immigration checkpoints by the holder until said visa has expired.
