Thai bank employee caught stealing customers’ cash

A video has been shared showing a female bank employee walking behind the bank’s reception and, allegedly, emptying the contents of a yellow basket into her pocket. She was carrying yellow basket and looked into the basket before quickly grabbing the cash and stuffing it into her suit pocket before going into another room through the white door.

 

The post was on the Facebook page @YOKanakorn.

 

The whole incident was over in seconds. Turns out that her fellow employees, including the manager, has suspected her backroom shenanigans for a while, but were unable to do anything as she was never caught in action. Over the past year the employee had purchased a new house and a car.

 

But on September 9 another employee mounted a hidden camera in the room that had no CCTV and captured the moment when she stuck the cash into her pocket.

 

Her victims were customers coming to deposit their money with the bank. She was actually going into the area behind reception to count the cash as the depositors said they weren’t sure about the amounts.

 

The PR division of the bank issued a media release that they’d fired the former employee the day after the incident was captured on the hidden camera. Police action on the case is pending and some suspicions have also fallen on the manager of the branch.

Indeed! Administering the distribution of funds for the destitute and disabled would be a perfect fit for her.

She was just applying very high negative interest rates

Hmmm.... I read that those funds were spirited away by some top government officials months ago. ????????????

On a bank teller's salary? The accounting department should be put under investigation. I'm sure one can't purchase a house and car for what she stuffed in to her pocket. As with everything in Thailand, if the higher up don't get to wet their beaks, this kind of theft doesn't go on. She'll be the fall guy. Lesson learned: If she wasn't going to share with everyone, she should have made better use out of her ass ets.

Police action is "pending"? 

Do they confiscate goods which are proved to be proceeds of crime?

The newly purchased house and car?

The Police will 'negotiate' and 'settle' the matter for a slice of the action and it will all be 'A Terrible Misunderstanding' !

More likely complicity.  So often in things like this that go on for apparently so long a time some boss or manager is involved or looking the other way or getting a kickback

How can people be unsure how much they are depositing??

Watch, she will just be "transferred to an inactive post" at another branch.

She shouldnt be punished....because she loses face,
