Further limitations to the freedom of speech

I just came across this article (in Thai) which introduces new laws/regulations, starting 17th october: https://www.khaosod.co.th/breaking-news/news_2899805

The most important part, which is especially relevant for everybody posting on public websites like Thaivisa, because it's easy to break this law:

It is forbidden to criticize a court decision in a way which is twisting the truth, vulgar, sarcastic, provoking or spiteful (possible other definitions as well)

This definition can basically be applied to anything that we write about a court decision, thus i expect that Thaivisa won't have any other choice than to prohibit any posts regarding court decisions. So starting from next month we won't be able to write about how the man with the watches or the man who shot the cat got away so easily.

That is why Thaivisa has the following forum rule in place.

11) You will not post slurs, degrading or overly negative comments directed towards Thailand, specific locations, Thai institutions such as the judicial or law enforcement system, Thai culture, Thai people or any other group on the basis of race, nationality, religion, gender or sexual orientation.

As the rest of your post is commenting on Moderation of the forum, this now CLOSED

10) Do not comment on moderation publicly in the open forum; this includes individual actions, and specific or general policies and issues. This also includes posting an emoticon in response to a public notice made by a moderator.

You may send a PM to a moderator to discuss individual actions or email support (at) thaivisa.com to discuss moderation policy.

There is also the forum rule which applies:

2) You will not use ThaiVisa.com to post any material which is knowingly or can be reasonably construed as false, inaccurate, invasive of a person's privacy, or otherwise in violation of any law.

You also agree not to post negative comments criticizing the legal proceedings or judgments of any Thai court of law.
