Hi guys,

If u can help will be nice. :D

Where the cheapest place to buy the machines (by the way in the sony thailand website they even not show it).

?

How many games u get with the machines?

How much per game ?

Is the licence per 1 game is for 1 machine?

*PS: I'm talking about a ps3 game shop.

The best place for a PS3 is probabily MBK. As for the price it's falling all the time and if you want a package including games you'll have to shop around the many stalls selling them and see what deals you can get. A standalone PS3 60G was going for around 23000bt last time i checked at MBK. (I'm still holding out for it to drop below 20k)

another good shop for games is GCorner

a good selection of games and he rents them too!! (and speaks good english) The shops near Victory Monument.

Hope this helps

There is a good game store in IMT towere off Silom. Their website is www.nadzproject.com. They have the PS3 60gb system for 21500 baht. Games will run you from 1990 -- 2490 baht. No games come with the package. That price is basically the Japanese price for the system plus shipping. It is cheaper than the USA or Europe for that matter.

The 9 free games are most likely the demos that you download from the PS Store when you connect your PS3 to the internet. However, I did hear that for the Euro launch they were offering Gran Turismo HD as a free download for a limited time. Othere than that, full download games you will be paying for. Anywhere from 6-20 US dollars. But, there a a good number of free demo downloads available.

I would keep in mind that for the PS3 the games are very expensive while on the Wii it is already possible to use bootleg games. That makes everything cheaper.

PS3 60gb system for 21500 baht

Thats cheap. Here in Oz they are selling for $999. I wont be buying one. I'll save the money and upgrade my PC at a fraction of the cost.

The price at Nadz Project is 18,500 baht for the 60gb. Right now, no PS3s are modified. No one has been able to do it yet. Nadz Project is in the ITF Tower (I think that is the name) on the corner of Silom and narathiwat. the website is www.nadzproject.com. I bought mine there, but back when it was 21500. Anyway, their prices are very competitive.

I bought my PS3 from Art & Gun on the 6th floor of MBK for 23,000 a few months ago. I have been able to download as many free samples of games as I like. I don't regret paying a small premium for it instead of saving a couple of thousand baht and not having it for 6 months.

Only problem is not being able to buy games online from the Sony store. It is a Japanese version and I have registered my details (in BKK) in the Singapore region, as there is not yet a section for Thailand, and when I try and buy anything online with a credit card it rejects it. Apart from that...games, Bluray, pics, music, remote play with PSP....Excellent!

I have a Japanese PS3 and have registered on the UK Playstation Network using my UK credit card

So far i've had no problems adding funds and buying PSN games, however once they start offering TV and Movies I bet that will change due to copyright for them

In case anyone's interested, I bought my PS3 from a tiny shop in a covered market, built over the river, down by China Town. I don't know that area of town at all well, but I'll attach a Google Earth placemark. There are 4 or 5 shops in there, I guess, that sell PS3 and some games. I wanted COD4, which had only just come out, and they sent a buy on a bike to get it from some place across town. I think the place I used was Winnie Games, as in Winnie the Pooh. It was 19500 for a 80 gig ps3, which +tax came to just over 20000 baht. I could have gone cheaper, but I plan to store movies and the like (when I can figure out how to do that...).

There are shed loads of other consoles available in there, plus the usual hordes of mobiles, cameras, bits and bobs, as well as some repair places that look like they can fix just about any console you can name. It's just a bugger to get down there, took over an hour from Lad Phrao on a busy traffic day. Rot tit!

My PS3 has since broken, but I understand it's a very common problem with the blu-ray drives where the laser fails to read data. The shops have stacks of PS3's being returned. They charged 3000 baht to ship it for repair, the unit itself being covered by Sony's warranty. (another place wanted to charge 6000 for the same service)

If you have any flights to Japan pick one up in duty free on the way back from the airport I got a PS3 40gb for US$295 (9700 THB) in Nagoya airport.
