rooster59 Posted October 12, 2019 Posted October 12, 2019 Free shuttle laid on for King Rama IX commemoration By THE NATION The Bangkok Mass Transit Authority (BMTA) is laying on three shuttle bus routes free of charge for members of the public wishing to participate in the ceremony being held on Monday (October 13) to mark the anniversary of the passing of His Majesty the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej, BMTA’s director, Surachai Eamvachirasakul announced. The commemoration rites hosted by the government at Sanam Luang include merit making, wreath laying, paying homage, candle lighting, and the musical performance ‘The Stream of Caring for All Thailand’. “This ceremony is being held to demonstrate the Thai people’s appreciation of the late monarch’s benevolence” the director said. The shuttle buses will run from the Victory Monument, Hua Lamphong train station and Wongwian Yai to Sanam Luang between 5pm to 10pm. “The service point for the buses is in front of the old government lottery office on Ratchadamnoen Road” he added.
