Don't know if it's true of cobras, but it is apparently true of the fer-de-lance of Central America. Baby rattle snakes much worse than when fully grown. I have a friend, 2 metres tall and strong as an ox, bitten twice in last year by (probably) small yellow ones. In hospital each time with internal organ and nerve damage.
