On Saturday Afternoon, Pattaya Police were called into action after a Russian Tourist, Mr. Yefgeny Alexsivit aged 23 complained of a Necklace Snatch which had taken place near the Potisampan School in Naklua. Police soon arrived and based on descriptions received of two suspects, an arrest of two 17 year old men was made in Soi Petragoon in North Pattaya. The victim soon arrived and positively identified the two suspects who in-turn confessed to conducting the theft of an 18 Karat Gold Necklace from around the neck of the victim. libya 115 Posted March 28, 2007 Author Share Posted March 28, 2007 Some more information in this news report from Pattaya People: March 28th 2007 Young Gold Snatchers Arrested The Pattaya police were informed in the afternoon of 26th March that a snatching occurred in Naklua on Soi 16. The two suspects used a green Honda Wave motorbike to snatch a gold necklace from a Russian man. Many patrollers and volunteers searched the roads and sois that the crooks may have fled to and were able to catch up with them on North Pattaya Road. The suspects Kowit and Sureewat, both aged 17, were being very difficult with the police. One of them even threatened the police that his uncle is a lawyer and the police will get into big trouble if they arrested them. Later the victim Mr. Ilichev, aged 23, a Russian came to the scene to point out the suspects. When he saw the suspects he walked over to slap one of them – this made the work even harder for the police. They had to stop the man from trying to attack the crooks.
