EGAT volunteers pitch in to help flood victims in Ubon

The Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (Egat) has teamed up with local authorities and the residents of Sirindhorn district in Ubon Ratchathani to rehabilitate the areas which were hit by floods.

 

Egat Deputy Governor-Generation Nutthavutthi Chamchang said that volunteers pitched in to clean and fix electrical systems and water pollution in three school areas, namely Ban Khan Rai, Ban Pak Bung and Ban Don Chee School.

 

“We provided 179 aid packages for citizens in tambon Khan Rai and donated Bt300,000 to buy supplies to fixing the electrical system and clean the area. We also donated provided 30 sets of household medicines and 1,000 bottles of EM water,” he said.

 

“Moreover, we released 2,500 fish and 150,000 of shrimps into the canal and operated mobile dental units for citizens in the area,” he added.

I do not really understand ;
it's their job to do that;
why need volunteers?
and come to advertise badly by giving almost nothing.

No, it's not.

 

They aren't the one you pay for electricity. 

PEA (or similar) retail the electricity they get from EGAT.

It's the same company ..

EGAT is the national one ( Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand )

 

while PEA is the official representative of this company in each province.

 

Provincial Electricity Authority 

 

and if anyone could explain to me why these acronyms are the abbreviation of English words when it seems to me that the national language of Thailand is Thai ...? :tongue:
