Yes TM30 still required, if you leave the country or spend a night at another address, 90 day (address) reporting should not be necessary.

If you go to the border at Maesot, then you cross into Myanmar for a stamp then straight back, you are not staying the night in Myanmar, though you are still going out of the country and straight back in again.

According to  the immigration officers if you leave like I do in and out in 1 hour you still have to report your whereabouts  tm30 well that's what they told me or you will be fined if they catch up with you because you have left the country and come back in I know it's crazy  but this is Thailand

Where do I stand, I own 3 properties all in different provinces. I'm on a retirement visa do I have to submit a TM30 every time I go for a short holiday. I've lived in Thailand for the past 20 years, married to my Thai wife for 16 years. I've never seen so much confusion, for tourists it's fairly simple.

This is not recent news. Where are you staying most of the time? What are you confused about? It's not very common that a foreigner is staying in 3 different provinces while retired. Where do you go for your 90 days reports?

The op was asked for his in a school! Imagine your child watching you be escorted off school premises by the police.

It doesn't make much sense why they would check at the school - they can just as easily check when the teacher's do their yearly extensions. I actually must make a new TM30 every time I get my extension done, regarless of whether I left the province/country or not. Thus applies to all teachers at my school.

If one has multiple residences,  would use one as the main residence and not bother reporting when I went to the other residences. It's not like they would know, and one would have to be very unlucky to get caught. And not all offices enforce this law for travel between provinces.

Obviously there is a difference depending on what your local IO requires of you. But I am sure the record of you leaving Thailand, and entering with a different TM6 number would trigger a TM30 requirement.
