SATTAHIP:--Wat Nongjubtao demands apology from online media

With all the upheaval at Wat Boonsamphan this past week, another Sattahip temple has been receiving bad online press. Phra Kru Thammayanprayuth, abbot of Wat Nongjubtao in Najomtien, Sattahip, is allegedly suing the “Big Krien” Facebook moderators for publishing rumors about the temple being greedy and only serving Chinese tours.

Sound familiar?

In the evening of Oct 25, the “Indy Big Krien Sue Nokkok” published photos and claimed that Wat Nongjubtao, “supported Chinese tour gangsters by renting out the area to gain benefits from fraud for selling Buddha amulets to build new duo main halls as photographed. Moreover, the temple doesn’t care although local residents have (complained) leading to conflict … Many people had negative comments and were seeking the firing of the abbot.”

The following day, on Oct. 26, Phra Kru Piyakitwiboon, aka Ajan Kaew, Najomtien Sub-district Dean of Monks, and Phra Kru Thammayanprayuth, Wat Nongjubtao abbot, said the claims were false and that the online media had twisted the truth. They insisted the temple used its own money to build the new main halls and Phaya Tao Ruan (big turtle sculpture) for 10 million baht. They said door fa็ade and Naga surrounding the old main hall and the new main hall were supported by Chonsawad Atsawaheam, a famous politician who donated the money for the building and construction.

As someone once said: Never underestimate the gullibility of your followers.

Me thinks they protest too much.. where there's smoke, there's fire.

My Thai ladyfriend of 23 years owns and has rented a 2 bedroom house (We live a one minute walk away) (Very near Wat Boonsampan) to a young chinese guy and his wife (10,000 B/month).. The day after they moved in, another of their chinese friends remover the brand new 'Large screen TV' from the living room wall, brackets and all..... After quite a fuss with police and the head Monk at the temple.... The TV was returned and the Monk 'Gave his personal guarntee' for the chinese tenant.....

Rent has always been on time BUT 'They' (including all their chinese friends) are such a dirty bunch --- Partying every night..... The house is so dirty with greasy film from cooking in an open electric fry pan, that the walls have a thick film of oil and there are 'droplets of oil' all over the front if the nearest Air Cond...... There is 3 AirCons in the house and every evening... after the temple... they have a group of their friends over... All 3 AirCons going full blast and all doors open to vacate the cigarette smoke.... Many cases of empty beer bottles accumulate each week outside....

Anyway this chinese guy is somewhat a Tour Guide/Meeter-Greeter for those chinese tour busses and they must be hauling in a lot of money for the temple for this Monk to 'Guarntee for them'...

When the ladyfriend told them at the end of their 6 month lease that she didn't want them any longer.... Them and the Monk agreed to 12,000 baht a month.... There is already a 20,000B deposit held and now 2,000B more a month will help toward the cleaning/painting and a new AC or two.....

I could write a book about this but this is enough to give you a little of MY personal knowledge of what kind of people are in volved with the temple and I won't be surprised what more arises in this deal..... And what is 'really' going on with the chinese tours....

Yeah and where did that "own money"  come from..........the sheeple, never  seen so  much waste as that thrown to these temples as in Thailand, theyre everywhere a  sickening display of waste with their stupid shiny gold and tons of concrete.

Gold and concrete - the 21st century god in Thailand. That's why the temples are so popular - it's the monks doing the 'preying' on the gullible.

Thai temples are businesses and have nothing to do with religion.  Monks are not supposed to handle money but can be seen touring IT stores for the latest gadgets.

More shame on Thailand.
