Interest rates are set by BOT and all banks are roughly the same.

As far as choosing a bank goes. The one that accepts YOU is the one to use.

Good luck with the search. Don't be put off by rejections, many of us have been down that road. You'll get there.

There are some differences by bank.

Also depends on type of account. You will get the highest interest if you can put the money in a fixed deposit account, and the longer the term the higher the interest. This approach also has the advantage that you need not keep track of timing in terms of when you can spend and when you need to top back up. But, of course, you have to be able to afford to put 800k completely aside.

Last time I looked into it Krungsri had the highest rates for fixed deposit but I opted for convenience to do it at the bank where I have my ordinary savings account as the difference wasn't enough to make it worth the hassle of dealing with two banks.

Thanks. I plan to leave it in bank. Been doing consulate affidavits for years and kept my money in home country now have to put some in Thai bank to be seasoned for next extension in 2020. I have several different bank accounts I'll just go with the one that doesn't make it a long hassle.
