Popular Post dallen52
Just arrived back from overseas and front Jomtien immigration for the residency within 24 hours. The condo owner is overseas so I do this. Surprisingly I am told that not need to do this anymore if you are at the same place. I was heading to Buriram Tomorrow morning so that's a bonus. Otherwise I would have to do it again in 6 days. Also they advised that I don't need to transfer the retirement stamps to a new passport. I can do it when renewal comes around March 2020. The place was empty at 1pm. Normally after lunch its hectic as. I like Jomtien immigration.... 5
Max69xl
There are always less people after lunch at Jomtien Immigration. The last report from Jomtien Immigration (just a few days ago) about the TM30,said that it had to be submitted within 3 days when coming from abroad. And no report when travelling in Thailand if staying at the last reported address.
Hans Rayong
They told me last week that, if you have a one year retirement Visa O, you don't have to report until some days before your visa expire, not even coming from abroad, if staying at the last reported address.

You don't need to report if you're staying at the last reported address because of the 90 days report. The 90 days report is to verify the address where we're staying. That's why we have to do it. And, if you have the old TM30 receipt in your passport, and take a copy of it when you apply for next 1 year extension, desk 8 at Jomtien Immigration will not ask you to do another TM30 report. GordonP
Do you have to TM28/30 in Buriram? If so you have to report again on your return to Jomtien, otherwise the system has your address as Buriram. If you are staying in a hotel then there is not a problem. KhunKenAP
Once again TM30 confusion thanks to no "one official policy or interpretation". Depends on who and when you talk to at the Immigration Office. Best to talk to the sweeper at the office. Can the FM radio guys to another call for clarification?

Well even though your terminology confused me.... do you actually mean a one year extension based on retirement? If so that is pleasing news! He doesn't have to do the TM30 report when coming back to Jomtien IF he's living in Jomtien and have a last reported address there. He just do the next 90 days report and he's back on track again. And the TM28 is a Change of Address, and nothing you have to do when travelling in Thailand. Edited October 31, 2019 by Max69xl

Desk 8, K. Tik. The favorite of the agents... Yes you don't have to front up. A 10 second snap on the smartphone and bye bye. All is taken care of. It was just a pleasant surprise when I rocked up to report residency and the front desk said, "not need to do if staying in the same place". And that was returning from Australia. Yes he does if............... he is staying at a private residence in Buriram for 24+ hours because the owner has to report him as staying at that address which remains the recorded address on Immigration records. I spent a good few months to and froing to Buriram on a twice weekly basis and was told this by both Immigration offices. It was a pain in the a**e.
