NON-IMMIGRATION VISA CATEGORY “O-X”

Purpose of Visit: This type of visa may be issued to applicants aged 50 years and over who wish to stay in Thailand for a period of not exceeding 10 year without the intention of working. Holder of this type of visa is allowed to stay in Thailand for 5 years each time (total 10 years). Employment of any kind is strictly prohibited.

This was approved about two years ago?

Which does not answer his question.

This does:

Not worth it in IMO - very high financial requirements, health insurance from Thai company, and although you get 5 year permission to stay, you still have to do 90 day address report & go to Immigration each year to prove you have maintained the financial resources required as well as the health insurance.      The O-A Visa IMO is the better deal even with the added health insurance requirement.

Only if you dont leave.. For my position.. In and out.. Its near perfect. Its almost zero more work, and 5 year chunks.

The only question is 'stamped in to the end date of the insurance' for me. I would be loathe to insure myself 12 months of the year to be here 4 or 5.
