I looked at Fortuner, Pajero, MU-X & the Terra. There is no reason I can see to buy the Fortuner...high price, no options, awful 3rd row seat storage and horrific ride and handling. No to mention the horrific ride. Did I mention the ride was terrible??? Oh yeah, if you want to make the Thai's think you are Hi-So, buy the Fortuner. I've never cared about impressing the Thai's, but if that's your reason to spend big money on a crappy vehicle, have at it. The Pajero also had a terrible ride, but had lots of available features, terrible 3rd row seating storage (the only way they will lay down flat is to also stow the 2nd row seats) and the price was very high...3 or 400,000 higher than the Terra. The Terra & MU-X Onyx were comparable vehicles in ride quality & available equipment and not to far off on the price. I bought the Terra VL for 100,000k less than the MU-X. I love it and the very smooth car like ride. I did not even consider 4WD. As it is the last vehicle I am likely to buy, I did not consider resale value. Nissan is a very reliable brand in the US & I doubt it would be any different here, just because it's made in LOS. I love my Terra, but as always, YMMV. Also, I haven't bought a used car since 1983. But I don't buy and sell. I buy new and keep them impeccably maintained. I don't need somebody else's problems. I still have the the Isuzu pick up truck I bought new in 2007. JoeW Posted November 28, 2019 Share Posted November 28, 2019 Actually the Terra is one of the top-sellers in the Philippines, Vietnam, etc. I guess in Thailand many people have a prejudice when it comes to Nissan trucks / SUVs. Buy a Toyota for resell value, but maybe JoeW and Tagaa have more insight. (Also, my wife doesn't like buying what everybody else is driving ????) It seems that the styling is not what customers wanted so there is a big major change coming already at the end of 2019.
