Opening Google Chrome in English, Not Thai

Featured Replies

Can anyone advise how "Google Chrome" can be forced to open in English instead of Thai?

After opening "Chrome" I have looked for a language change option on the web page but cannot find anything.

I have requested help from "Google Community Help" but did not get a useful reply.

All help options offered always direct me to open Chrome and then go to settings, but how can I do this when all menus are in Thai which I cannot read.

Any help on this issue would be much appreciated.

Regards

Try this link to settings:

chrome://settings/languages

Then you will first see a collapsed version of the settings, click "1" to open and then something like this:

If you are lucky, "English" is already in the list of available languages. Next to "English" (see below) click "2".

Click to "3" should get you to English AFTER close and restart of the browser!

Check the other options after that.

If no "English" you have to "Add Languages" with "4".

Hope that's good enough

A bit more complicated with the settings.

Of course "English (US)" will be shown in Thai language:

I set my default to

https://www.google.com/intl/en/

which then automatically goes here:

https://www.google.com/?hl=en

Either should get ya there.

Yes, this brings you to the search website in English.

But the OP has the (additional) problem that the user interface of Chrome (menus etc.) are in Thai language (as I understood).

Another possible option:

search for "Chrome download English" and install "over" the existing installation?

https://www.google.com/intl/en_pk/chrome/

I haven't tried it.

Or, better still, set your preferred search engine to duckduckgo.com.  English only and your searches are not tracked.
