water heaters in bathroom

Featured Replies

is there an element inside that can be changed instead of buying a new on. i’ve change coils in water tanks before  and wondering if it’s kinda the same. thank you!

It is a small heated tank that transfers heat to running water - not an element in a tank of water.  But heaters are not that expensive and am sure a relative would be happy to get older unit.  For these abnormally cold days often slowing the water flow will at least allow reasonably warm showers.

Yes there is an element inside..( inside a copper or plastic water jacket) but not easily changed and not easy to get the replacement part after a couple of years...if it is not heating very well then it could be scaled up..you could try  filling it up with vinegar and let it sit for a day or 2..turn off the electricity before messing about with it.

If its not heating up as usual be sure that it isn't because the water temp going in is a lot colder!

A few years ago, I bought a new one, then found out the new one was the same ????

Believe the heaters will only heat water with a ~10c max.

Less than 4.5kW in around Bangkok or further south.

Up north 6 - 6.5 kW. As the water is sometimes colder than in the south.

House has low current wiring? Then use a water storage heater, lower current but more time.
