If it's about saving lives, then why not put the freeway speed limit down to 40 MPH and ban motorcycle use?

If the United States government had a real honest to goodness interest in saving human lives then it would go after the tobacco industry and leave law-abiding gun owners alone. After all, tobacco is really the most common form of drug addiction, and it kills approximately 430,000 Americans a year. That’s more deaths annually than those from AIDS, alcohol, car accidents, illegal drugs, murders and suicides combined. In fact, the tobacco industry kills more Americans in one year than World War II did in its entirety. Bottom-line; Uncle Sam wants to exert much greater control over the lives of private citizens and he knows very well that he can't do it if there's an armed Militia standing in his way.
