Not sure if the Nong Khai immigration office is requiring a TM30 report if you make a trip within the country and stay in a hotel or etc that reports your arrival to immigration.

If you are staying with your friend make sure he doesn't report you, then you wont have to report yourself when you get back.

TM 30 lean approach........(what is known will be handled, what is NOT known, is ok

TM 28 enforced , it is registered by computer and an extra paper with stamped date of report will be attached to your passport, which is NOT the 90 day notice!!!......easy for IO to check....passport holds exit stamp date........and entry date , so play safe its a 5 minute encounter, head of the household can report for any family member, wife (if non Thai) & kids (if non-Thai)

If notification is frequent NongKhai is lenient with the new 90 day reporting.......say after a month of 2 or 3 address reports (MY guess) they print out a new 90 day report date.
