I'm the original poster.  I'm not needing to get to Phonthep 2.  The other poster may want to look at Norway Viking Village for accommodation.  If he is working at Mooltripakee school, it is only 7 minutes drive away.

Norway Viking Village looks like it may be exactly what I am after!  Cheers for that and apologies again for the previous hijack.

Will find out once I move in.  1st contract is 6 months only.

Well done, I call it the 'Sanook' Talay as it has bar beers on the ground floor whereas in VT2 where I live I call it the 'Comedy' Condo - we have security in ill fitting uniforms that go around on an old kiddies bike and it slightly annoys the missus who has mild pretensions to grandeur (we didn't buy in Chateau Dale). Probably fine if you are a single man. Just for the record and to help others do you mind telling us how much you paid and what the general condition of the room is like?

15500 for the 7 months is a really bargain

if it's 15500\month sounds a little bit pricey imo

unless is a big one in perfect condition with a nice view and so on

i presume it's a 2 bedrooms appartment?

Don't worry, yes there are some bars and girls on the ground floor

of the residence, but inside the building it's a mix with Thais and

retirees owners and tenants, some families also, the punters are not the majority.

You should be at ease here with your family and the location is really good.

A last advice avoid to use the sidewalk with your family on the opposite side of

thappraya road, from the Pan Pan restaurant to Pratamnak, all the soi stray dogs of

the area are here, they are fed by people living in the slums in the bush

and they can be agressive, particularly at night.

It is 15500 per month for a 7 month contract,  the bars are all on tower A, expect 1 in B, I’m tower B and away from the bar so should be fine. 62sqft  apartment in very good condition.
