First Marriage Extension

Recommended Posts

Going for my first marriage extension this year after retirement for some years.

I have all the documents according to UbonJoe’s list, plus a friend of mine has told me all about photographs.

Is there anything else I need?

For example, last year I arrived with documents from my local bank branch obtained on the previous day only to be told that it had to be dated on the same day. Is this still the case?

Is a map downloaded from Google acceptable?

Most importantly, I have heard that they ask for witnesses. Is this true?

My office is Korat.

Some offices do want the bank letter done on the day you apply.

Not sure if Korat will accept a Google map. Many want one that is hand drawn one. It only needs to be from the nearest main road or intersection.

I think Korat does a home visit for the first extension instead of wanting a witness.

I am sure Jomtien is doing home visits now instead of wanting witnesses.

The will accept a bank letter that is up to 3 days old.

If wanting to change from Retirement to Marriage extension some IO s might pressure you to remain on retirement. (easier for them).

One way to head this off is to show financials that do satisfy marriage but do NOT satisfy retirement extension.

I was hoping for a few more responses to this, especially from Korat residents.

Maybe I’ll repost it with Korat in the title, if that’s acceptable.

There is a topic posted about Korat immigration.

He had to get a bank letter done on the day he applied yesterday.

No witness was needed but it was not his first extension based upon marriage,
