As if to prove the point!

Well, in any group of people, there are the leaders and the followers. Many followers are also contrarians and will cheerfully ignore the largest pimple on the nose of the most outrageously stupid schoolyard bully, and just try to be 'different' or énlightened' (which more or less defines the needs of the contrarian).

Personally, if I see it raining I won't debate the matter with anyone who says it's a sunny day (if only I could see it) and I won't listen to the schoolyard bully who often thinks that inclement weather is his personal fault rather than focussing on raincoat, brolly and galoshes like more intelligent people.

There seems to be a small but enthusiastic coterie of people, for whom any dissenting voice is mere Thai-bashing and racist, without very much thought as to whether or not the bashing might be merited and well-deserved. This is usually because they feel a sort of kinship with the people being criticised but don't like to say so because under it all, they agree that as a population, Thais are pretty dumb. Oddly, these are often the same people who appear to be addicted to putting 'sad' or 'confused' feedback on other people's posts - usually because they don't really understand the posts and they hope to conceal that.

Best advice to give these ne'er-do-wells is to imprisoned them in an ordinary Thai school for a while and see if they escape blinking into the daylight or if they finally find their niche in life among the under-intelligent Thai population. Fortunately they're in a small minority who only really understand decibel debating.

Each to his own I suppose.

He mentioned the EEC.  Anytime you can talk about the junta's pet project in anything completely unrelated is a good thing for junta mania.   He gets a pat on the head and a lolly.

  • Fiddling while Rome gets ready to burn. That's all. Long as they can keep their snouts in the trough prepared for them, all will be well, and that's all they're really interested in.

  • Yes, let's all work together with the government in helping them polish a turd.

Too funny. You go to all that trouble to write a put down piece because you were given a sad smiley for posting a generalisation on a topic about which you either knew almost nothing about, couldn't provide supportive arguments for, or were to lazy to verbalise, or all three....surely it would have been far easier and more productive to just put in the effort in the first place!

All done? I gather you were one of those who did not understand a post of mine. No matter, I'm sure there are lots of things you struggle to understand. It isn't really important in the overall scheme of things.

You can go now brother. Go sharpen your acuity, it's in a sorry state of need.
