Central Pattana (CPN) is taking urgent steps to decrease water usage in 33 of its department stores nationwide.

The measures include lowering water pressure and postponing some unimportant activities which use large amounts of water, as well as setting up a wastewater recycling system in four stores to bring the total to 17 stores. This will enhance its wastewater recycling capacity by 20 per cent.

President & CEO Preecha Ekkunagul said CPN is concerned about the dire drought situation.

He added that the urgent measures will save about 10 per cent of water, or 840,000 cubic metres, in 2020.
