Very recently I saw a new system of watertubes. It is made of pe material and easy to install. You cut it and push a connector on each side and screw it together. It was quiet flexible and the connections looked very solid. The tubes are of grey colour.I have seen the chinese white tube but this is not the same. Can't recall the name that was stamped on it but it did sound that it was of australian origin.Has anyone seen the product I'm talking about and have a resource of where to buy it.I looked homepro and homeworks already but they don't have it.I think it is the same importer as the white pvc pipe. Thanks in advance.

yes, it works very well but you have to be careful when you have a hot water tank (boiler) or another form of water heating! If so you should careful check which maximum temperatures are allowed!

When I was building in Spain until a couple of years ago the system was used more and more and it is quite easy to use, even for unskilled people. There are at the moment quite a lot of manufacturers worldwide.

by the way, be careful that the product is imported and a known brand, avoid local "copythai" or it must be manufactured under license of the brand! I personally have seen a lot of local manufactured (other) stuff which is far under the norms! Take also care that when you want to use this tubing your domestic water supply is pressurized so you are able to use smaller diameter tubing. Otherwise you have a poor flow. In principal: the less pressure the bigger diameter tubing has to be used.

Where to buy, sorry, I do not (yet) know because I am not yet ready to build my own house.

Furthermore I forgot all the brand names (age??). I will try to figure out. One name I remember: Legris (French, well known). The others are coming soon back in my mind.

Google under Legris Industries than you will see a lot of executions. There are nowadays so many manufacturers! Look a bit under "couplings" and "fittings". The diameters for a pressurized system should be 15-18 mm. Depend of the number of taps you are planning on the same tube. Sometimes even 22-28 mm.!

I believe that the tubing is referred to as "PEX".

yes but this refers to the composition of the material. Mostly used for floor-heating.
