The man said he wanted to commit suicide by police because he

was depressed. Then why not just turn the gun on yourself ?

Or, why wait 14 days till you are caught and arrested ?

Jeez, maybe, just maybe he's lying because he doesn't want to say "I wanted to kill my Mia Noi who I had recently impregnated".

Says he couldn’t find any cops to get shot ? Why didn’t he just walk into the nearest police station with a gun that fires blanks and start firing then ?

If he was looking to get shot to death by cops why bother covering his face up ?

If he was stealing to pay debts why steal so little an amount ? You can hold half a million bht of jewellery in one hand no problem so money wasn’t the reason I’m sure .

Didn't you notice the hair?

Nobody is saying the DNA directly led to the arrest, the blurb in the news is the gun led to the guy. As for the DNA, the guys ankles were exposed and when he climbs up on the counter, walks around on the counter, his ankles come into contact with the counter or things on the counter. There are freeze frame shots of his bear ankle touching the counter.

The gold was never thrown in the river, its since been discovered hidden at his house.

Last night a news channel claimed he was turned in, ratted out, by his wife. That was also on one of the internet print media sites. Who knows,  but yes many have doubts the suspects arrest was the result of super-sleuthing by the BIB.  Christ a Friday - They couldn't sleuth their way out of a wet paper bag. ????

Yes, a police safe house is not safe for the victim it's safe for the police.

Setting aside the crime itself as that is being dealt with adequately by all the TV supersleuths that would put Sherlock to shame. I hate these safe houses and I do not believe them to be even legal.

There is not one possible reason to take somebody to a safe house other than to perform illegal activities against the person and the law. Not one. You cannot even say for the safety of the accused, because once they got their ' confession ' they move him to a regular police station or Army barracks whatever, where he could have be taken in the first place.

It is a known fact these places are used to extort victims, extract confessions under duress, use cruel and unusual punishment such as electric shocks, suffocation with plastic bags etc. There are also no witnesses or access to lawyers or medical staff if need be.

If this guy is guilty, do as you wish or should I say as the law decides, but neither he nor anybody else should be taken to these safe houses, which is just a  euphemism for torture chambers!

I know people close to me who have been taken to these places and terrorized into giving in to extortion.

Apparently, the "safe house" was the local army barracks.

Yes, it's suspicious, isn't it.

DNA of 'sweat' dropped at the counter. He was heavily clothed, how did sweat get from him to the counter top? Who managed to spot the sweat? How did they link that with him and not the man who was standing in the same place just seconds before? Did they check their DNA 'evidence' to that man's sweat?

All the gold stolen was 'thrown' away in the river. Gold is heavy - it would sink. Have they trawled the river bed and located any gold? Even one piece?

TV slueths can do better that I can.

I now settle down with a fresh coffee to await further unbelievable 'evidence'..................

Maybe the sweat got onto the counter top the same way as the stolen gold ended up in his house - magic, spirits, ghosts.

As for analysing the sweat overnight for DNA, now that does sound like a complete load of BS - -

not unlike the discredited DNA testing of the 2 Burmese guys fitted up for the kho Tao debacle.

Highly likely if she read on social media, after the mia noi was offed, that she was 3 months up the duff.

Well OK whatever,

I would like to see or know the reasoning behind it to take him there and then AFTER transfer him to a regular police station.

They have these places up and down Bangkok and Pattaya and they are nothing more than old condos and run down houses away from prying eyes where they can do things to the accused which are highly illegal.

I saw a Thai News clip on a friend's phone yesterday and they had pictures of this guy and compared the manner of stance, which appeared to be similar. Apparently, according to the clip this teacher/director had broken a leg some while back which left him with slightly abnormal walk. Anyone here confirm this?

As has been mentioned many times I would be interested in hearing all the facts as it all appears to be a little too convenient to be true

I think its primarily to avoid the media circus, and somewhat for the protection of the guy, correct procedure can be followed. As you can see, when they did finally take the guy to the police station, its under an armed escort, bullet proof vests, the station is locked down. The safe house could be just buying time to get all that in place. Make sure they dont miss a legal step in the arrest process etc.

The "things" you refer to is often done on Military bases.

When the US were redacting terrorists to 3rd party locations in order to do "things" to them, several were redacted to Utapo air base and had "things" done to them.

You have FAR MORE trust in the local police than I will ever have.

Regards the media frenzy, by and large it's the police who call them and tell them what time to be at the station!

The BIB and the media are all in step with each other and certainly don't need time to get things in place. They sing off the same hymn sheet.

The trouble with these investigations is the RTP, they talk too much and make little sense.

He threw the gold into the river? Really

It was a failed suicide attempt. Nah not buying that.

Mention of DNA, always a cause for concern in Thailand.

Any news on the gun do they have it?

Many things we don't know about this case and the accused.

Ah I see,

So you actively promote this type of policing ?

I suppose you are a supporter of the extra judicial killings that take place as well without due process!

And to mention US forces, well how many times has it been proven that they have carried out unnecessary and completely wrong actions against captives and suspects including civilians.

There is law and without it there is anarchy.

Many things we don't know about this case and the accused.

Well just lets say what facts we do know:

1. The shop assistant, who he shot 3 times, was known to him.

2. The gold was found at his house, the location being revealed by his wife.

3. He borrowed an identical gun from his father on the day of the shooting. Simple ballistics tests will prove if it's the same weapon used in the shooting.

4. Most importantly, his father was a senior police officer. Remember the initial reports about the shooter being protected by an important person, locally?

Douubt that they will need any more evidence than that to convict in a Thai court or pretty much any other court in the World.

The police have known who he was from day 1 but have been stalling to find a patsy for the crime. Remember the guy in Nong Khai with the red bag?

The question is one: HOW can a firearms expert be a teacher?

Where in any of my posts have I disagreed with you? I stated the facts and made no judgment on them. Please quote me if you think otherwise.
