how about helping those that keep Thailand’s economy running foreigners who support there Thai families ‘ sending children to private schools simply because the Thai education system is failing.  Getting poor exchange rates ? Without us many Thai families would suffer austerity .... yet we’re treated worse than dogs.

if Thailand continues in this manner then i will be left with little choice other than to remove my Thai family and move them over to the uk. It would certainly be cheaper ...the only thing Thailand can offer me that i don’t get in the u.k is sunshine on a regular basis...

I personally know of two couples who have left for Vietnam both after several years here, because of the fantastic new health insurance arrangement, and two more who will be leaving very soon, i myself will also have to do likewise after October. How many more are there who will be taking their pensions to Vietnam with them. Can't the stupid government realise what they are doing to themselves.

Better think again. Vietnam (effective July) has become significantly harder to retire in visa-wise and of course never had a retirement visa in the first place. Not all countries really even want retired expats and Vietnam appears to be one of those countries.

People would come for up to 6 months at a time over the winter if it was easy to do so.

 

If it's hassle then a lot of people don't bother to stay longer than 60 or 90 days.

 

If Thailand had anybody with brains in TAT they would come up with an attractive package deal to capture Brit and European retirees over the northern winter months. Given the right incentives, i am sure there is a massive market there, Forget the bloody stupid "pay in China" tourists.

Not too many group tours coming from China for few months? It's big gap to be closed and keep numbers increasing. 

Just checked few big hotels (higher end) numbers and 2019 did not look good at all (compared 2018), actually double digit less sales, so no big spenders everywhere. They tried to compensate numbers by selling property, so after that it looked decent.
