New Immigration Laws On The Horizon?

Featured Replies

My company based in KL were in the process of enquiring to apply for a tourist visa for me and were told that due to the new laws I had to apply in person, but they also said that there were new laws about to come out but would say no more. Has anyone heard?

Maybe someone could give me some info here. I've been in Thailand for about 6 years working on a 28 day at work in various countries, but now in Malaysia, and 28day off in Thailand. Obviously under the old laws this was not a problem but when I left Bangkok end of last month I was told to get a visa as I was going to be over by a few days next time I arrived. This would be correct as I only worked 21 days instead of the 28 days last time at work. As far as I was aware all i had to do was to get a tourist visa outwith Thailand and it would all be ok again but as I said when my company enquired about this in KL they said that yes I could get 1 tourist visa there but that would be it as they were changing the laws again. Can anyone shed some light on this and if possible advise me of my options. If need be my company will pay for me to go back to the UK to get a visa but surely there must be a better option?

Any comments would be appreciated

Dr Pong

How would I apply for a non imm o if Im not married to a Thai?

You won't get a Non O.

But as Dr Pong said, yes, of course, you can apply for any visa you want, but, that doesn't mean you'll get it :o

Are we talking about applying for an Non 'O' visa whilst in THailand or in your home country other than Thailand.

If its your home country I got a Non 'O in the UK and I wasnt married at the time

I am in the process of doing my support of Thai child visa and one close friend at immigration also said that by the end of this year there will be some major changes in all visa catagories.

Just that and no more!
