BANGKOK (NNT) - Air Asia has been readied to evacuate Thai nationals without fare payment from Wuhan city ; meanwhile a total of 135 Thais have asked to return home from China.

Deputy Prime Minister Gen Prawit Wongsuwon confirmed today that the Ministry of Public Health has closely followed the coronavirus situation and noted it has not adversely intensified and that the Chinese authorities have now allowed the Thais to be evacuated from Wuhan.

Consular Department Director General Chatri Atchananan said a total of 135 Thais have requested a return home from China and Thai authorities have prepared travel papers for them. But the authorities cannot assure every one of the 135 Thais, that they will be returned in the face of the screening process and the requirement for complete documentation.

Deputy Prime Minister/Public Health Minister Anutin Charnvirakul confirmed the Thais will be evacuated from Wuhan by air with medical staff and officials having been already prepared. Now only the date has to be fixed by Chinese authorities for the planned evacuation of Thai personnel to proceed.

The 135 will need to keep "watch" of what they are signing for with the general at the helm ie loan agreements????

When they arrive home, the PM should be there to shake hands with each one of them.

The unofficial word (gossip, rumour, speculation, drum beat) that I am getting is that he wasn't sick at all. It is said that that was just a trumped-up excuse to avoid facing the opposition.

IMHO some places on that list are very surprising and doubtful. Thailand ahead of: Denmark, Germany, Norway, Belgium, Japan, Brazil, Ireland, Singapore....

The first 2 are suspicious to me... Thailand isn't, really. It has a huge network of public and private hospitals, capable of handling this, for a fee. It manufactures medicine and it was reported today (not sure if it's true or not) that a retroviral cocktail used for HIV plus Tamiflu "cured" a patient at Ratchawithi hospital in 2 days. Now if that is in fact true, and those medications are widely available in Thailand (Thank HIV infections rate 30 years ago for the HIV-NAT research centre), that would put Thailand quite high on the list for ability to handle this pandemic.

Air Asia has been readied to evacuate Thai Nationals without fare payment  I should think so ,,, excuse me if you want to be evacuated the fare is 20,000B,

Thailand 'cures' coronavirus with anti-HIV drug cocktail in 48 hours

Whoa, *if* true...

Can you imagine how much profit there is to be made selling so-called Anti-Corona Beer Virus buckets on the beach? ????

????????????????????

Reading the article the doctor did say that it was a one off case and maybe a last resort treatment. Not all patients react to it. He also mentioned that all patients are being treated as per normal using the anti-viral drugs everyone is using. He is not claiming to have invented/found the majic bullet.
