Popular Post webfact Posted February 11, 2020 Popular Post Posted February 11, 2020 People power! Housing estate residents go to the press with complaints about trash burning  Thai caption: Illegal rubbish burning - grass fires Picture: 77kaoded  Residents of a large housing estate in Pathum Thani north of Bangkok have appealed to the Thai media for help after constant illegal fires have made their lives a misery.  Individuals are burning trash behind the Saphaporn estate in Klong 3 and the fires are igniting grass and undergrowth over a wide area of wasteland.  Yuphawan said she was one of the most affected of around 1,000 residents.  Many people ,especially children, are suffering the adverse effects of the burning. Ash and smoke pours over the estate.  People have been forced to shut their houses up but it is still no use - it is dangerous to health and it stinks.  Two local authorities have been called to tackle the fires but no permanent solution has been found.  So the residents met at the juristic person's office and went en masse to 77kaoded to get some action.  No report of the involvement of the police or otherwise was contained in their story, notes Thaivisa.   -- © Copyright Thai Visa News 2020-02-11 Follow Thaivisa on LINE for breaking Thailand news and visa info    2 2 2
Popular Post Redline Posted February 11, 2020 Popular Post Posted February 11, 2020 Nobody cares-they burn every single thing with no penalty at all-does the government really care about anything at all but money? 10 4
Popular Post 30la Posted February 11, 2020 Popular Post Posted February 11, 2020 Remember, however, that your PM does not want you to smoke or drink alcoholic drinks, the rest ... who cares ... 6 1

Popular Post Funtom Posted February 11, 2020 Popular Post Posted February 11, 2020 Thailand terribly needs nation-wide garbage collecting system, waste recycling/reusing in order to get rid of those practices. 4

B S, they burn everything it's a part of the culture. The burning of the fields for example will continue until the rainy season. The authorities will do absolutely nothing and the locals are either totally ignorant or afraid to complain. 1
soistalker Posted February 11, 2020 Posted February 11, 2020 I know what burning plastic smells like. If you have lived in Thailand, you probably know that as well. 1
Popular Post mfd101 Posted February 11, 2020 Popular Post Posted February 11, 2020 The problem is that ordinary Thai people have little idea how to make things happen - yes, use the media but you need NUMBERSÂ - not just 5 or 10 people, 500 or 1000. Then the local police & governor start to take notice. Â Then you need PERSISTENCE so they start to actually DO something - like arrest fire burners and fine them with REAL money ... Â Any trade unions in this benighted country? I've never heard of one ... 4

Thai's don't want to pay for a collection service though. In my Moo ban we have roughly 200 homes. The Pu Yai finally was able to get a service up and running. Unfortunately only 40 homes signed up. Apparently the other 160 did not want to pay the 60 baht monthly fee!!! So, guess what those 160 are doing? Same as usual dump and burn!!!! ???? 5
Cake Monster Posted February 12, 2020 Posted February 12, 2020 IÂ hope they get more interaction from their Local Authority than I did. Â

After the people pay a 1,000 Baht fine and know the next one will come if they burn again, they will find out that 60 Baht per month is much cheaper. In civilized countries... 2

neeray Posted February 14, 2020 Posted February 14, 2020 Submarines rate higher than a garbage collection and disposal program.
